Essential Wellness Yoga is proud to support local Veterinary Professionals (Vets, Vet Nurses, Vet Technicians and Reception Staff) with their physical and mental wellbeing.

Veterinary Professionals work long, hard hours. They not only have the stress of working with patients that cannot talk to them about their health issues, they also deal with worried pawparents. These professionals deal with loss and grief every day, along with the owners of the animals that are old or ill. Often the outcome that owners were hoping for doesn't happen and their grief can be taken out on the staff.


The depression and suicide rates among veterinary professionals are above the national average. We all experience stress from time to time, and there are some common points in a veterinary professionals career when stress is high, and they need to put some extra thought into taking care of themselves. Some of the threats to the health and wellbeing of veterinary professionals include stress, addictions, grief and loss, depression, anxiety and suicide.


Why do I choose to support this profession? My daughter is a vet so this is very close to home for me. I want to do everything I can to support the wellbeing of all the staff in this wonderful profession.


Sessions


Weekly scheduled Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra In Studio or Livestream sessions are available free to veterinary professionals (veterinarians, nurses, technicians and receptionists) on the Sunshine Coast. Simply contact me to receive your code to use when you book any of these sessions.


All Essential Wellness Yoga sessions are Trauma Aware and Culturally Informed. They assist in maintaining Resilience, Strength and Connection.


All sessions are suitable for beginners, taught with clear instructions and are particularly suitable for people that may be experiencing chronic stress, depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress.


Each session has limited places available and bookings should be made three hours in advance.


How To Book

Use the link below to choose your sessions. Enter your code when checking out.


If you are joining a Livestream session you will receive a link to the Livestream (Zoom) meeting in the calendar attachment in your confirmation email.


You can create an account to save time when making bookings in the future. When you have booked into your class a confirmation screen will appear, with the option to register for an account. Next time you visit the site to make a booking, simply login and book your class.


Please make sure you complete the health questions included in your booking request,  so we can accommodate any injuries or illnesses you are currently experiencing.


Get The Most From Your Session on Livestream


It is not necessary to have yoga props for your practice. However to get the most out of your sessions, some props from around your home will be of benefit.


Pillows, cushions, towels and throw rugs to roll up for extra support and padding can help maximise the benefits of the Yin Yoga Sessions and allow you to hold the poses longer.


A blanket, small thin cushion or folded towel or blanket for under your head can also help support you in the Yoga Nidra Sessions.
